York Township Democratic Organization

Current Candidates

These are Democratic candidates in the election for York Township officers to be held on April 4, 2017. Non-partisan candidates for municipal and other local offices will be on the same ballot; for lists of these go here.

Janet Tinnon for Supervisor

Janet Tinnon has an extensive background in businesses both large and small. She was Executive Assistant to the Senior President of Marketing and Communications at one of the USA's largest ski companies and put together its fall Homecoming Festival and Fourth of July Concert and Fireworks Show. She also worked as Truth-in-Lending review coordinator for a major bank. Closer to home, she started her own transportation company, handling all aspects of the business and building it into a successful and profitable enterprise. Janet feels that the status quo of York Township government has gone on long enough, and fresh ideas are needed. Strong township programs that aid young people, veterans and senior citizens need to be managed and implemented by a person who cares and has the strong management skills to make them successful.

Township Clerk Dan Kordik is currently refusing to certify Janet's placement on the ballot due to an alleged legal technicality. Anyone reading this is encouraged to call Mr. Kordik at (630) 495-0686 and let him know what you think about his attempt to deter democracy. Voters can still write Janet's name in for York Township Supervisor.
