We Stand with Illinois Families Facing Deportation Threats

Immigration enforcement continues to create fear and uncertainty in our communities. ICE activity has recently increased in DuPage County and across York Township, disrupting lives and putting families at risk of separation.

We stand united with immigrant families who call our community home. Our values of democracy, equality, and opportunity mean that every neighbor deserves dignity, respect, and safety—regardless of immigration status.

As policies shift and enforcement escalates, we reaffirm our commitment to advocating for humane and just solutions. Together, we will work to ensure that our township remains a place of inclusion, opportunity, and support for all families.

What to do if you witness ICE Activity

Provide as much information as possible when reporting possible activity by ICE or federal agents. Spread information, not panic!

Documenting is ESSENTIAL to inform the community clearly and support the people impacted or at risk. Be specific, concise, and precise as possible.

  • You have the right to document in public space or on your property. Officers cannot search or seize your phone without a warrant.

  • The best way to document is to use your phone to record. Your phone must be visible to agents.

  • Best practices for staying safe:

    • Stay at a safe distance

    • Narrate what you see - state location and time. Describe where you are and what you saw before you started recording.

    • Hold your phone horizontally to capture as much as possible.

Do not share or post on social media.
